Millet (Kodo) and Banana Roti


Delicious roti rich in fiber, protein, vitamins, minerals and without added sugar.  



 Ingredients (makes 3-4)

  • Millet flour (1 cup)

  • One banana (mashed or pureed)

  • One egg

  • Fennel seeds (1 tablespoon)

  • Vegetable oil (2 table spoons)

  • One cup water



Method

  1. Beat egg in a bowl

  2. Add banana, millet flour and fennel seeds

  3. Add water and mix well

  4. Put half table spoon oil in a fry pan (low - medium flame)

  5. Pour the batter for desired roti thickness

  6. Cook well on both sides for a few minutes each




Millet is a rich source of wholesome carbohydrate and fiber, which digest slowly and keeps us full for longer.
Banana enhances the taste, adds natural sweetness and important minerals like potassium and magnesium.
Egg provide protein and a range of other nutrients
Fennel seeds not only add aroma and flavour, but also valuable vitamins, minerals and protective phytonutrients.
Moderate use of unsaturated fat is a healthier option.
